Daniel sat at the table staring at his food. 4 months had passed since he'd gone on that awkward date and he refused to go on any more. Well at least none that were with his mom's friends, and none without first learning more of the korean language. He'd been working hard to learn more of the language, but with the ability to speak to his mom in english he hadn't really been utilizing much at all. Furthermore, he was getting tired of rice for every meal as well as the same 반찬 {sides} every day. Being in Korea had lost it's appeal quite a while ago. Daniel sighed, "What I wouldn't do for some Alberto's right now". He finished up the bowl of rice in front of him and said, "잘 먹었습니다" {I ate well/ thank you for the food} and put his dishes in the sink.
"Danny-ah! Can you go to store and get bat-el-eeh?" his mom shouted.
"What the hell is a bat-el-eeh? Oh wait, I got it! You want batteries! What kind?"
His mom walked up to him and handed him a AAA battery.
"This one. Remote control need new"
"God mom, we lived in America for 25 years you'd think you'd have picked up the language better"
"You speak korean, then no misunderstand"
"whatever"
"다녀얼게요" {I'll be back} he said to his grandparents and mom.
He walked out of the apartment and hit the button for the elevator. As he waited he stared at the shitty phone he'd been given to use while in Korea. He couldn't wait to get back to America and use his Android again, instead of this shitty slider phone. Two months wouldn't be soon enough. With a ding the elevator stopped at his floor. The doors opened to reveal...nobody. There was always nobody. Just once he'd like to see a cute girl which he could exchange awkward glances with. But it was always the same. He sighed and got into the elevator and hit the 1 button. He rode the elevator down and started on his half kilometer (one kilometer=0.621371 miles) walk to the store. When he got to the store he looked around a bit and decided to get a beer. He stared at the whole one refrigerator he could select from. He grabbed a big bottle of Hite and took it to the register.
"Oh wait!" he stepped out of line and grabbed some AAA batteries and then went back to his place in line. The cashier scanned the item and asked him, "Point card 있어요?" {Do you have a point card}
"No" he replied.
The cashier gave him a bag with his items in it and he walked out the door to walk back home. As we walked out the door he saw a very attractive looking girl (albeit it was from behind) as he walked behind her she turned around and turned out to be only attractively clothed without the face to match. Unfortunately this was a common occurrence in Korea. Many of the girls had very good fashion sense but weren't so attractive themselves. Daniel sighed, 'All Korea does is make me sigh' he thought to himself. He walked back to the apartment complex and hit the up button for the elevator. Ding! the doors opened and he got into the empty elevator as usual. He pressed the 11 button and just as the doors started to close a girl ran in the front door, "기다리세요!" {Wait!} she shouted just as the elevator doors closed. Daniel frantically tried to hit the open door button but the elevator had already started to go up. That girl looked almost..cute! But he'd only seen her for a second, he needed to make sure. Ding! 11th floor, he didn't get out and instead pressed the 1 button to go back down. Ding

Almost...cute! Does that mean she's "bomb" as Kevin would ask? Can she cook? How long is her hair my dude? But most importantly, does she like black dude?
